CMS celebrates the extraordinary decade of 1820-30, when Beethoven, Schubert, and Mendelssohn composed many of chamber music's most celebrated and beloved works. In “Masterpieces for Eight,” Michael Parloff provides insight into: Schubert: Octet in F major for Winds and Strings, D. 803 (1824), and Mendelssohn: Octet in E-flat major for Strings, Op. 20 (1825).
This lecture was recorded in CMS’s Rose Studio on February 25, 2014.
